AI-generated code contains 2.74 times more exploitable vulnerabilities than human-written code.

Not "slightly more." Not "a marginal increase that better tooling will catch." 2.74x. With 40-62% of AI-generated code containing exploitable flaws like SQL injection and buffer overflows.

That is from multiple independent studies published in the last two weeks -- SoftwareSeni, Cycode, and Apiiro research all converging on the same conclusion.

But here is the number that should change the conversation at your next engineering leadership meeting: Veracode analyzed 1.6 million applications and found that AI-driven development is creating vulnerabilities faster than teams can fix them.
